Q: pre-diabetic, or diabetic!

My doctor has never diagnosed full on Diabetes 2, as I only had one fasting glucose level above 125 (127).  She recommended I test myself, a couple times a week...fasting, and 2 hrs., after a meal.  I've been testing myself for about 5 weeks.  My numbers are all over.  I've had a low of 89, and a high of 128. Most typically my numbers are around 100 (fasting), and 118 (2 hrs., after a meal).  DO I HAVE DIABETES, or NOT.  I'm an otherwise 63 year old, symptom free, no risk factors, active, healthy adult.  My doctor isn't very helpful, I don't want to worry about this if it's not necessary...any suggestions??

Sorry about the above, I didn't finish the response.

Check out this page:

http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/d_0n_010.htm towards the bottom is a chart that shows the classification.  You are one point above the threshhold for diabetes.  I think all you would do is reduce the carbohydrates you eat and be sure to exercise, but again, I am not a doctor.
