Q: How to identify tye-1 & type-2 diabetes? Doctor has advised me to take Gemar-1 tabs in the morning

Basicalily I am from India, I do not know what type of diabetes I have..! My age is 41 years, My father is a diabetic & it started to him at the age of 55 +; where as to me I have been diagonised at the age of 38 years; I am a self employed person, I regularly check the sugar levels every sunday before & after the food and before food the levels are between 124-155 & after food the sugar level is 185-240;   ( i have just taken the overall from the past 3 months; sometimes it may even vary between 115-126 before food (very rarely) & 154-175 after food (very rarely) ).

I have been advised to take  Gemar-1 (Glimepiride metformin) before breakfast & in the night Ecosprin AV-75 one tab.

My sevear problem is the Foot burning & pain for which the Doctor advised me to take Maxgalin-M-150 mg  (pregabalin with mecobalamin) daily one in the night. In the begining foot pain & Burning was reduced but now; it is acute I am unable to drive the car, the burning is more during the night times, I ask my wife to sit on the foot so that it reduces to some extent. I am unable to take Maxgaline-M-150 in the morning as it causes high drowsiness. I am also using MCR Shoes & Chapples for smoothness to my foot.

I request you to kindly advise wat other precautions/ medicines I should follow & what is the remedy for my foot burining.

I was smoking before 7-8 ciggrettes per day; now I am smoking 3-4 / day.. I know I have to stop this nuisence & i will do it at the earliest.

Kiran Kumar M.N.

Kiran-

Hello! Click here (Type1) and Here for (Type 2). The information provided will let you know if you have Type 1 or Type 2.  The medication your physician put you on is a medication that most people with Type 2 take are prescribed. Diabetes has no age. You can be 38 and develope either Type.
