Hello! Alcohol can cause you to have hypoglycemic episodes, which could be very dangerous. If you are taking Metformin you are putting yourself at risk for lactic acidosis. You also want to be careful with alcohol if you have liver issues. Liver problems and alcohol doesn't mix. I would say if you decide to drink, do it in moderation, make sure you have someone with you just incase you consume too much and always carry glucose tablets.
