increase metformin is not helping

For four years of taking 500mg a day. Now my blood suger levels are high. We increased to 1000 once a day. (for 2 weeks) No change. Increased 1000 mg twice a day no change. Morning level are Apporox 165. After meal 2 hr 190's. Before Dinner was 120's after 250's . Now before Dinner 150...
