Good Fruits v Bad Fruits

My mother is 81 yrs old & insulin dependent. When I care for her I allow her some fruit. MY sister the R.N. will not allow her any fruits. She has mom during the week.

She is quite proud of mom's blood sugar levels. As is mom's physician.

Mom is quite miserable not being allowed some enjoyment.

What references can I refer her to that may enlighten her?

Fernando,

As you may know, the main sugar present in fruit is fructose. Our expert David Mendosa's post, "The Trouble with Fructose" will help explain to you why fructose can be harmful to people with diabetes as well as suggest what types of fruits are OK to eat. I hope this helps!
