Personally, taking Lantus once a day works wonders for me, but I know that a lot of others take it twice daily and that has settled their sugars down.

It's probably best if you read through the advice from those doing it - go to realitycheck.org.au and then along the top, click on 'forum' - then do a search for lantus - it will provide you with heaps of topics about it and you'll be able to pick the appropriate one.

Hi doublenn,

Thank you for your question! Some people do take Lantus insulin twice daily, usually because they need so much insulin that it shouldn't be taken all at once. However, you cannot split the dose on your own. If you are concerned that your sugars are not controlled and are interested in starting a twice a day regimen, you should discuss you concerns with your doctor. He ore she is on the best person to tell you how to take your insulin. You can read more about Lantus at this website. Best of luck!
