Hi Jan,

From looking around the web, there seems to be some that do say chest pain can be caused by Metformin, but the problem is so many other things can cause chest pain! Call your doctor and consult with them immediately!!  Don't assume, your doc is your guide, not the internet!

Thank you I did get in touch with Doctor and have ruled out heart disease and the medication so thats good. Have had bloods done so will know more in couple of days. You are right people should go to their doctor and not wait for a reply from the internet thats crazy. Once again thank you for taking the time to reply. Wink

Great for you Jan!  You are an empowered patient!  The internet is a great source of comfort and also where people run to when they are scared and in crisis!

That's why sites like this exist and I'm glad to be part of it, because if I can empower one patient at a time, to help think thru whatever the crisis of issue they are facing, it's one more person to help others!

As PWD (people living with diabetes), we need to face the growing number of patients and the shrinking number of doctors. People will be coming to the internet more, not less!  Sharing experience is so important because some else is right behind you looking for the same thing.

Food for thought!  Keep me updated on the mystery chest pain!! Smile
