Q: Can you recommend a "diabetes boot camp" where I might receive medically sound, multi-disciplined residential treatment for one or more weeks this summer?

Janice,

Just for point of reference, I'll shoot you some sites that have camps, but also let me know where you live.  If you don't want to post, you can send me an email via this site.

Joslin Diabetes Center The Do It program is an outpatient, but you might want to call Joslin and find out more.  They can better guide you to all the offerings, but just to familiarize you with Joslin, here's the link to the 4 day intensive:

Diabetes Research Institute has week long classes for both type1 and type2 called Mastering your diabetes.  Here's the page: http://www.diabetesresearch.org/page.aspx?pid=496 Just click type1 or type2, toward the bottom of the page, and then look for mastering your diabetes.
