Q: My husbands a1c is at 11.9,

he has been a diabetic 36 years and thinks this is just fine. Can someone please tell me , isnt this really dangerous??

Yes, it is really really dangerous! He must be in denial if he thinks this level is ok. He will end up having many many complications if he does not get it under control.6.5 is considered a good level. He either needs to get in touch with his dr. or you can get ready for major problems for him. Stroke or even death.

dear mrs Concerned

Your husbund  AIC is too high . This is related to the level of blood glucose  in the blood in the last 3 months . The level of 11.9 indicated that your husbund's glucose it not comtroled weel. If he does not improve this figure ,with the help from his health care physcion ,he will run into the side effects of diabetes sooner than if he had more control. this figure should be under 6-7 . Its important to get it down
