Q: Can insulin injections after over 35 years of use not work as desired showing high sugar (over 450) but then find its way into body and cause low blood sugar (reaction) especially at night?

My daughter has Type 1 diatetes (onset age 4) and is currently 42. Lately her shots appear inaffective but later on she ends up in a reaction for low sugar. Today for example she took her shot only had coffee and orange juice - it is 1:15 pm and her blood tests around 450. The other day she went to ER for low blood pressure, was treated and came to our place. With 30 mins she was in a reaction and we ahndled by bringing blood sugar up. Many times during night she goes into a reaction and gradually comes out of it...very dangerous. My thinking/question is...could the injection areas be holding the insulin and not circulating into the body (stored at site) and later on make its way into the body as it should have at the time of injection? She has always been a brittle diabetic, but this is uncontrolable now.
