Q: does byetta and actos cause weight gain? or is ther something that I could take in place of actos wi

I am taking actos and started taking byetta in the beginning I lost weight and now I have gained is there a reason?

Hello! I am not sure why you have gained weight on Byetta, I thought people shed pounds from using byetta.  Have you changed your diet? that could be a reason. If you click here, it will take you to a section we have here and it's dedicated to people using byetta.  I hope this helpsWink

I don't know about Byetta, but I take Actos and have gained 20 lbs. Actos causes fluid retention, so some of it could be water weight. Do you have swollen ankles and feet?

Also Actos is black boxed in the PDR, which means it can cause congestive heart failure and death. I am going to tell my doctor in a week, that I will no longer be willing to take this drug.

We have to start standing up for our own health issues and refuse drugs that are so dangerous that the side effects are worse than the disease. Any drug that causes death should be removed from the market.
