Q: Blood Sugar and exertion

I am very new to tracking my blood sugar, and I am confused about something.  When I spend several hours outside in the heat working in the garden or working with my horses, I can get weak or lose my stamina even if I drink fluids or eat a protein snack.  When I go in and check my blood sugar, it is usually high (for me) about 135-145.  How can I continue to do the outdoor activities I love without it negatively affecting my blood sugar?
