I had read that weight lifting without rest between reps causes your body to produce steroids, one
of which is insulin. The question is, can this actually enhance and potentially alleviate the need for medication?

There is no doubt that exercise is great for diabetics. It helps us burn fat, keeps the cardio in good shape and helps burn off the energy that carbs in our diet create so it does not turn to fat. Weight lifting is really good exercise because muscles use calories more efficiently and weight lifting builds muscle mass. I did not find anything that specifically says building muscle and weight training increases steriod production in the body. I do know that when you are prescribed steroids, such as prednisone, your blood sugar levels are adversely affected. Numbers go high. So it would make sense that you would not want to do something to increase the amount of steroid your body produces. This might be a good question for you to ask your doctor next time you see him.

training exercises appear better at controlling blood sugar than
either type of activity alone, researchers say."
