Q: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AVANDIA & AVANDAMET

Hi Johanna,

 

Thank you for your question. Avandamet is a combination drug, made from Avandia and metformin. The combination just gives you two drugs in one pill, reducing the number of pills that you have to take each day. Avandia works by making the body more sensitive to insulin. Metformin works in several different ways, but mostly by decreasing the amount of glucose that the liver produces.
