I am not a Doctor.  I can only speak from my own experience as living with diabetes.  Wow! 4.7 is pretty darn good for an A1C.  Endo's consider anything under 6.0 close to "normal".  Does diabetes run in your family?  You have every right to be concerned.  If you think he may have diabetes, call his pediatrician and schedule an appointment. Oh! make sure your son washes his hands with soap and water before you test his bg's. I can let you know I have touched a few sweet items before testing and it cause your bg's to be high.  Meter reading's are pretty accurate; depending on who you are talking to:) Just make sure the strips haven't expired and you don't have the strips in extreme heat.   Cherise Community Moderator
