Q: Should take a Vitamin D supplement in addition to my prenatle vitamin, or is this safe to do?

I recently found out I'm pregnant with my second child. My first was diagnosed with Diabetes in August. In my research, I have discovered there appears to be a link between Type 1 and a Vitamin D dificiancy during pregnancy. I'm wondering if I should take a Vitamine D supplement in addition to my prenatal vitamine, or if this is safe to do?

the safest way to prevent deficiency is to 1- eat foods high in vit D, or 2- more sun exposure, or 3- just rely on the D in the PNV (or you could just take a MVI)

not sure why you would need to take extra D, but it's most liklely safe, as long as you don't supplement over 100% of the RDA

good luck and remember- dikembe mutombo's mom took alot of D during her pregnancy...
