Thank you for your question. There is no way to guarantee whether or not you will need insulin at some point. There are several types of oral medications that can be used to control your sugars. If those are working for you and there are no reasons for you to stop taking them, then you should be able to avoid insulin use. If your condition declines and the oral medications are no longer doing their job, then you may one day have to resort to insulin use. It's important for you to understand how important it is to control your sugars. Tight glucose control is the single most important factor in preventing complications in diabetes.
