The managers of our local country store told me, when I questioned their switching to "no sugar" preserves, that they were doing it so their diabetic customers could eat it. A lot of folks out here are morbidly overweight due to a combination of "sweet tea", fried everything and beer. My concern is that if a local diabetic is told they can consume this sugar free jam (which is sweetened with grape juice) with no worries, they will just "have at it". I would think that fructose could be just as damaging to a diabetic as sucrose. Eating a few grapes is one thing, concentrated grape juice a whole different matter. Please comment.
