There is currently no generic Actos available in the United States. However, the current patent with Takeda Pharmaceuticals expires in 2011, which means other drug companies could start manufacturing a generic version of Actos at that point. Since some companies sell fake, substandard, and potentially dangerous medications, you should avoid any so-called generic Actos products until an approved version becomes available.

I checked with Medco my insurance company and found no generic available.  There are countries outside of the US that offer generic actos.  Diavista is generic Actos overseas.

I don't take Actos but you can contact them for prescription assistance.
