Can elevated blood sugar levels make you very tired and washed out?

yes,as the elevated sugar level obstructs in converting to energy it leads to tiredness

YES!!! Your body is working hard to control your sugar which drains you. It's as if you  suddenly drank 10 cups of coffee; your body is feeling the effects of the caffiene, and to compasate for it working extremely hard  to return it to it's normal pace and condition, you loose your normal agility.

Yes, Absolutely! Quite often that is how people are diagnosed initially. They are tired, exhausted, feel like crap all the time so they go to the doctor. Often times they think they have the flu. The doctor runs a basic battery of tests, draws blood... and WOW! We find out we are diabetic. I know... it's not that simple but I do think pretty often that is what leads to the initial diagnosis.
