Q: Do I still need a pre-bedtime snack if I am taking Lantus as I did with NPH???

i am a senior with Type 2 Diabetes.  I am fully insulin dependent and have been part of the Accord Research Team for the past 5 years.  I have just changed from NPH to Lantus because I have a radical lifestyle and go to bed and wake up at different times each day.  It was difficult to remember to take my NPH at 12 hr intervals each and every day at the same time.  I find it easier with Lantus but I would like to omit the nighttime snack since I usually eat a late supper (7 to 8pm) and I am not hungry at night.  I am also obese and because of heart and breathing problems I am not very active.  Elise
