Q: I am a USAF Veteran and within this past six months or so the VA has started me on a Oral Medication. Stating I was diabetic and I should be taking this medication period. No education of any kind.
I was not provided a means of testing blood sugar or urine per say. No Gluecose tolerance testing of any kind. No counseling on the disease or what foods to eat that kind of thing.
To me if they are not serious in making sure I know what I am dealing with then why in the world should I take it serous as they are my medical provider whom I am supposed to trust. If I cannot trust information then how can I trust the so called diagnosis of a blood test all I have is their word that I am and nothing to back it up with.
Not impressed with the care thusly given and at the point of chucking this medication to the nearest trash can. Is where it has me at so far. Especially when it takes over three months to even get a Doctors appointment at the VA in itself.
