I was recently diagnosed with diabetes type 2, and I noticed that when I don't eat my sugar reading is high. Then every time I DO eat...it goes normal. I am confused. I thought it was supposed to be the complete opposite with diabetes??

depends on the timing- if you fasting sugar is high, you may need insulin, or to lose weight to bring it down- as far as normalizing when you eat, it may depend on the time of day- in DM, sugars are likely to go lower @ midday, and can drop low pre (early) meal due to glucagon insufficiency- well, try to avoid the old joke- 'hey doc- every time i eat my sugar goes to normal- 'well?- don't just stand there- eat something!?'

your meter may need new batteries or u may need a new meter but u should also wash hands with dish soap bcuz regular hand soap has alchohol which is turned into sugar so using dish soap may help but otherwise ask your doctorLaughing
