Hello! I agree with Fred. Diabetes can be inherited it's a gene. I also agree that diabetes has a lot to do with our environment, especially with Type 2. I am a diabetic Type 1.5/LADA. I don't know of anyone in my immediate family who has diabetes. I am the only one. The best thing to do is watch for the signs in your children and pray your children don't get it. If they do develop diabetes they can live a healthy long life w/o complications.
