Need help in finding new sup. ins. All this is confusing. Where can I go for help?

I have medicare and Anthem Blue Cross. I can afford most of the copays and dr.s visits, but, what kills me is the fact that they won't fully cover non-generic meds (byetta, avandia).  My copay for generics is $8.00 but I have to pay full price for non-generic.  I'm on a fixed income and this leaves me so broke on a monthly, that I stress so bad my sugar numbers are outrageous!!! Supposedly, I'm in what they call a "Donut period" with blue cross and need to come up with a $4000. deductible before they will cover non-generic meds. Nov. is around the corner and I can change insurance.  Where can I get help finding the insurance the one that best suits my medical and financial situation.  The information I have found is so complicated that it frustrates and confuses.  Please! Someone please help me.

Hello! You have Medicare (Primary) and BC (secondary)?  If I had to make a choice on what secondary insurance I would pick it would be AARP.  The deductibles aren't that high and offers a lot more for the money; in my opinion.

I have worked with insurance for the past 6 years & I know it can be a pain!

I believe the "donut hole" you are talking about is in your Part D medicare program.  There are 3 levels to part D.  You should be able to change your plan starting on Nov 15th.  The cost per month for the plan will be more but it would elminate the "donut hole".  Just call the cpmpany you have part D with & tell them the problem, they should be able to work with the past years numbers & tell you which plan is best for you!  Good Luck!
