Q: Quaker Oatmeal Oats

My mother is diabetic and is it bad for her to have Quaker oatmeal in the morning?

absolutely not!- oatmeal is a healthy food for nearly everyone, including diabetics

 

in fact, oatmeal is high in soluble fiber, which actually lowers blood sugar response after eating

 

of course, if you put butter and sugar on the oatmeal... My advice is to add in some fresh fruit and a whole lotta cinnamon

 

good luck and remember- most things the quakers do are wise
