I have been taking 20U of Lantus at night, exercising and watching my diet. My blood levels are good but I have read that Lantus is not a stand-alone drug. Should I be taking pills as well? What my doctor prescribed is Metformin but I have had heart surgery and don't like what I read about possible side effects from this pill. Should I keep on with what I am doing as long as it works?
