I believe that is rather high. But mine however, currently is an 8.7 so I'd say you're in better shape then me. :) Maybe we both should work a little harder.

I agree with Jam who answered the question before myself, tha is a rather high number but i have experience higher numbers and have been able to bring mine down to 7 and my doctor recommended that I try to get it down to 6 so you are not that far from a healthier life...Be encouraged Erik you can do it!

A normal Glycohemoglobin is between 6 and 7.1. That varies based on the lab perfomraing the work though. I have HgA1c as high as 13.6, sut since I have been on the insulin pump I now run between 7.1 and 7.6.

The pump is the greatest.

Erik-

Hello! Your glucose level is high.  Did you get the high reading fasting, before or after you ate?

Yes, it's high. Mine was 8.1 and my doctor threatened to put me on injectable insulin (I'm type II). I got very strict with my diet and lowered it to 6.8 in 6 weeks, he seems satisfied with that. He also raised my dosage of Glyburide and Metformin.

Now I havee to be careful and eat regularly or my BG goes way too low, like 46!
