I don't understand the diabetes issue- check the urine sample results for glucose/ketones- or, just check the blood sugar

It may be nothing, but keeping an eye on her is important.  I am diabetic type 2, but come from a long family history of both types.  Severe thirst and frequent urination are signs of diabetes.  Do you have a glucose monitor to test her?  Is the doctor going to do a hemoglobin A1C blood test?  Best of luck.

I agree with having her blood sugar checked.  Do you know anyone who has a glucose meter?  The best time to check her blood sugar would be first thing in the morning or  between 2 -3 hours after she eats a meal.  Normal blood glucose should be in the range of 80 - 110.  I've had Type 1 for 37 years.  I have a grandson about her age and he drinks a lot and wees a lot too.  He is also thin and very active and totally healthy.  One of my nephews became an insulin dependent Diabetic - Type 1 at 2 years of age.  If your little girl would be tired and sleepy most of the time, like my nephew was, then I would be more worried.  Enjoy your little one for they surely are a blessing and time goes way too fast.  Please take care.
