Q: is glyburide/metform 5-500 and metformin 500 the same thing?

No glyburide and metformin are two separate drugs..the equivalent of the two combined is a drug called glucovance. It is much cheaper to purchase the 2 separate b/c the glucovance is very expensive to purchase....I can buy both of the product at Krogers pharmacy for about 4 dollars a piece where the glucovance is about $30.00 for a thirty day supply...I hope this helps you out....
