It depends on your blood sugar level. If your talking about taking long lasting insulin it won't matter, but if you are talking about fast acting insulin, then you have to know your blood sugar level,which requires either a quick glance at your cgm or a test with your meter. Going to high or too low will not make experience fun. So the best thing I can say is that routine needs to be your priority, don't skip just because! If your blood sugar needs to be corrected because you are to high, then by all means take a shot. If you blood sugar is in the right range you can probably wait til later.
