At a Glance

Type 1 Diabetes can present itself at any age, but usually becomes apparent between infancy and last 30s. People with type 1 diabetes are often sickly in infancy, have parents with type 1 diabetes and have an older mother.  Furthermore, exposure to cow's milk and not breast milk increases the risk for type 1 diabetes.
