At a Glance

Prevention of Type 2 diabetes begins with diet and exercise.  As obesity and sedentary lifestyle are the primary causes of the condition, changing an unhealthy, inactive lifestyle to a lifestyle with well-balanced diet and plenty of exercise significantly lowers the risk of the disease.  Those with pre-diabetes, for example, can often reverse the potential for Type 2 diabetes through lifestyle change.
