At a Glance

Although the causes of Type 2 diabetes are unknown, there are some key risk factors, including obesity. When a person is overweight, the cells in the body become less sensitive to the insulin that is released from the pancreas, thus causing insulin resistance, which is strongly associate with Type 2 diabetes.
