Dr. Bill Quick and his wife Steph are the authors of one of the Internet's oldest and most respected diabetes websites, the Diabetes Monitor, and he is the author and moderator at Diabetes.Blog.com, which has a thriving community of readers and writers about current diabetes topics. At Diabetes.Blog.com, he is affectionately known as "Bill the DiabetesDoc" or when he deletes off-topic comments, as "Bill the DeleteMonster". In 2005, he developed diabetes, and immediately started on a basal/bolus insulin program.
Bill previously was in private practice at the Midwest Diabetes Care Center in Independence, Missouri. He has been a specialist in diabetes care and endocrinology for over 30 years. He is a nationally-known expert in diabetes education, and is a past president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, and also a Fellow of the American College of
Physicians, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology and Diabetes Care. His present "day job" is as a Director in pharmacovigilance at a major pharmaceutical company.
