Dr. Bill Quick and his wife Steph having been writing about diabetes on the Internet at several diabetes websites since 1995. In addition to blogging for HealthCentral, he is presently starting a new diabetes website, D-is-for-Diabetes.com.
Bill previously has been employed in pharmacovigilance (drug safety) for several pharaceutical companies, and was in private practice at the Midwest Diabetes Care Center in Independence, Missouri. He has been a specialist in diabetes care and endocrinology for over 35 years. He is a nationally-known expert in diabetes education, and is a past president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, and also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology and Diabetes Care.
In 2005 he developed diabetes, and immediately started on a basal/bolus insulin program. He subsequently switched to an insulin pump, and uses CGM to help track his blood glucose levels.
