Percent Daily Value

Even if you are not on a higher or lower calorie diet, you can use the percent daily value numbers to help you determine if a food item is a good source of a particular nutrient.

  • Five percent daily value or less means a food is not a good source of that nutrient.
  • Twenty percent daily value or higher lets you know that a food item is a good source of that nutrient.
