Byetta may cause pancreatitis

The Food and Drug Administration says that the diabetes med Byetta may cause acute pancreatitis. Officials say patients should be alert to the signs of the disorder, which include severe abdominal pain that can be accompanied by nausea or vomiting. Drugmaker Amylin has agreed to update Byetta's label to include the risk of pancreatitis. Read more »
