Study: Diabetics' cholesterol troubles need combination of drugs

People with diabetes who also have high cholesterol may benefit from a combination of cholesterol drugs, a new study reports. Diabetes often causes a characteristic "diabetic lipid profile" of both high cholesterol and high triglycerides, a combination that often cannot be treated with just one drug. Researchers suggest that taking a statin with a fibrate (such as Tricor) may be a good combination for people with diabetes. Read more »
