New research suggests that insulin levels may determine what type of weight-loss plan will work best. Researchers say that people who secrete high levels of insulin may lose weight better on a low-carbohydrate, higher fat diet than on a low-fat diet. In a recent study, those with higher insulin levels lost nearly five times as much weight on a low-carb plan than a low-fat plan.
