Study: Cholesterol drug helps lower glucose levels too

A new study by researchers in Texas has found that WelChol (colesevelam hydrochloride), a drug used to lower cholesterol, may also be effective in lowering glucose levels. The study's results suggest that adding WelChol to existing diabetes drug treatments may help reduce patients' cardiovascular risk by both improving glycemic control and lowering cholesterol levels.
