How Do Genes Cause Obesity

Researchers say that a single gene called adipose may be able to
keep people from gaining weight and may lead to new treatments for
diabetes and obesity. In a recent study, scientists manipulated the
gene, which lowered the amount of fat tissue in the animals'
bodies. Experts say the gene seems to act as a master switch that
tells the body how much fat to accumulate or burn.
