Growth hormone may benefit gastric banding patients

Women who undergo gastric band surgery may be helped by adding a growth hormone to their post-surgery treatment. In an Italian study, researchers found that women who took a growth hormone lost a similar amount of weight as women who did not take the hormone, but they had greater total fat loss. The women who took the growth hormone also lost less lean muscle mass and skeletal muscle mass, and had greater insulin sensitivity and a better cholesterol ratio than the surgery participants who hadnâ€...
