Common sweetener may lead to weight gain

A controversial new study suggests that eating the artificial sweetener Splenda may cause weight gain. Researchers from Duke University fed rats different doses of Splenda for 12 weeks. At the end of the study, they found that the rats who had eaten the sweetener had gained more weight than the animals who were fed their normal diet.
