Arthritis drug may help prevent diabetes

Salsalate, an inexpensive pain reliever similar to aspirin, may help prevent Type 2 diabetes in obese people, a new study suggests. Researchers say that the medication substantially reduced blood glucose levels as well as inflammation in 20 obese young adults. Cutting inflammation and blood glucose levels is one of the keys to preventing diabetes, experts say. Read more »
