Chemical found in soaps, plastics linked to obesity

New research suggests that there's a link between obesity and a class of chemicals found in soap and plastics. Researchers say the chemicals--called phthalates--have already been linked to male reproductive problems and they may cause abdominal obesity and insulin resistance in men. Experts say the link may be that phthalates appear to decrease testosterone levels, which may contribute to weight gain. Read more »
