British researchers say that eating broccoli may help reverse the damage diabetes causes to heart blood vessels. A compound in broccoli--called sulforaphane--spurs production of protective enzymes and helps repair damage done to cells by high glucose levels. Experts say this is good news because diabetics are up to five times more likely to develop heart disease than non-diabetics.
