Researchers at Duke University say that using carnitine supplements helped reverse insulin resistance in obese rats. The eight-week study found that the animals had a lower risk of diabetes at the end of the experiment. The study's authors say that the results may help them determine if older people or overweight individuals may need a carnitine supplement.
