Two cancer drugs reverse Type 1 diabetes in new study

Researchers working with mice have found that two commonly used cancer drugs were shown to prevent and reverse Type 1 diabetes in a new study. The drugs--Gleevec and Sutent--put 80 percent of mice afflicted with an animal model of Type 1 diabetes into remission. The two cancer medicines then cured 80 percent of the mice in remission of the condition.
