The older, long-acting type of insulin is as effective in treating Type 2 diabetes as newer meds, a new study says. People with Type 2 diabetes who need insulin show the same levels of blood sugar control using the traditional insulin as patients taking newer medications such as Lantus, Levemir, or Exubera.
