Low-carb diets beat low-fat diets at preventing diabetes

Low-carb, high-fat diets do not increase the risk for Type 2 diabetes, a new study has found. In fact, diets rich in fats and protein may even lower the chance of diabetes. The study followed 89,059 women over the course of 20 years. Researchers found that women who ate lower amounts of carbohydrates and higher amounts of fats and protein were less likely to develop diabetes than women who ate high-carb, low-fat diets.  Read full story >
